According to the latest report from the American Travel Industry Association, about 70% of those surveyed did at least half their travel planning and booking on the internet. That's probably how you arrived at this website, right?
The problem is, while there is no end to the number of online travel sites where you can book a hotel, or flight, or whatever; before you do any of those things, you want real, up to date information about the places you're thinking of visiting. Although booking sites usually have some destination guides, it's usually minimal, 'canned' and out of date. That's where TWO sites come in.
Travel Website Owners ('TWO' for short) is a group of travel writers who publish up-to-date travel information on destinations throughout the world on the web. The group includes many traditionally published authors who have written guides for Lonely Planet, Moon and others, but they now publish their own personal guides via the world wide web, where the information can be more immediate and the interaction more personal. This group has come together to agree on a common set of principles for travel web sites that will ensure consumer confidence in the information presented, and to raise the awareness of internet sites within the travel sector.
